Privacy
Last updated October 24, 2026
Müsick is built to keep your music, and what you do with it, on your own devices. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, in the apps or on this site.
The Mac app
- Your library stays on your Mac. The songs, their tags, your playlists, play counts and the library's index are kept in your home folder and are not sent anywhere.
- Reading the Music app's library. When you import from the Music app, Müsick reads its list of songs and playlists on your Mac. It never changes that library or the files in it.
- Looking for album art. Only when you ask it to look for missing art, Müsick sends the artist and album names of those albums to Apple's iTunes Search service and to MusicBrainz and the Cover Art Archive, and downloads the images they offer. Those services' own privacy policies apply to those requests.
- Your phones. A paired iPhone talks to the Mac directly over your local network, encrypted with a key the two devices made when you paired them. Nothing about your phone or its music goes through us or anyone else.
- Updates. When the app checks for a new version, it asks this site for the list of releases. That request says which version of Müsick is asking, like any download would, and nothing about your library.
The iPhone app
- Your music stays on your phone. Songs are stored in the app on your iPhone and play from there.
- iCloud Drive. If you use the Müsick folder in iCloud Drive, the files go between your devices through your own iCloud account, under Apple's privacy policy. We can't see them.
- The Music app. With your permission, the app reads the songs in your iPhone's Music library to import the ones you choose. That list stays on the phone.
- Local network. With your permission, the app finds Müsick on your Mac on your local network, to pair and sync. It talks to nothing else on the network.
This website
- Support requests. When you write to us on the support page, we keep your email address, the topic and your message so we can answer you. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't share them. Ask, and we'll delete them.
- Downloads. We count how many times each version is downloaded. The count is just a number; it doesn't say who.
- Server logs. Like most web servers, ours notes the address a request came from, the page asked for and the time, to keep the site running and stop abuse. To stop spam, the support form remembers for an hour how many requests came from each address.
- No cookies for visitors. The only cookie this site sets is the one that keeps its administrator logged in. There are no analytics, ads or third-party scripts, and the pages load nothing from other sites.
Children
Müsick isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect anything from them.
